Matt is joined by Kevin Kennedy, actor and musician, best known for playing the character Curly Watts for 20 years in ITV's long-running television soap opera Coronation Street.
Kevin serves as director of
Kennedy Street
recovery services, a peer-led, registered charity that offers support and signposting to people who want to recover from addiction as well as professional advice and coaching service to the business sector.
Kevin had a very public battle with his alcohol addiction until he entered active recovery 25 years ago. Now an advocate of recovery, he dedicates much of his time to helping others. Today, Kevin and Matt discuss:
- Addiction, recovery and how to live a healthy and sober life.
- His history of alcoholism and the reprieve of playing a loved character.
- Understanding the importance of peer support and asking for help.
