“I don’t know how I’m still alive.”
Amber was using around three grams of ketamine a day. Three years into recovery, she is still living with severe physical consequences and is awaiting surgery to remove her bladder and reconstruct a neobladder using part of her bowel.
In this extract from K-HOLE: The Ketamine Documentary, Amber describes the escalating pain, spending hours sitting on the toilet, seeking medical help and the moment she realised just how much damage had been done.
K-HOLE is a UK ketamine documentary produced by Inspired Youth in partnership with Believe in People, exploring ketamine addiction, bladder damage, substance misuse, recovery, treatment and the impact ketamine is having on individuals, families and communities.
